Why Book Through SCMA?
Real operators, not resellers
Every company in our network owns and operates their equipment. When you get a quote, it comes from the company that will show up on your trip — not a third party who hired someone else.
Vetted and licensed
SCMA member operators hold active DOT authority and carry commercial liability insurance. They maintain their fleets and employ professional CDL drivers. These aren’t fly-by-night services.
No broker markup
Booking through a broker adds cost and removes accountability. When something goes wrong, you want to be dealing with the people responsible for the bus — not a call center. SCMA gets you to the source.
Regional expertise
Our operators know this part of the country — the roads, the venues, the events. That local knowledge matters when you’re moving a group through Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

Where We Serve.
What is the South Central Motorcoach Association?
SCMA is the regional trade association representing professional motorcoach companies operating across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. We advocate for the industry, support member operators, and connect charter buyers directly with licensed, vetted transportation providers in the region.
How is booking through SCMA different from using a broker?
When you use a broker or aggregator, you’re working with a company that finds a bus from someone else’s network and takes a fee for doing so. That means less accountability and often a higher price. SCMA connects you directly with the operator who owns the bus and will be responsible for your trip. You deal with them, not a middleman.
Are all SCMA operators licensed and insured?
Yes. All SCMA member operators hold active DOT authority and carry commercial liability insurance. They operate their own fleets and employ professional drivers with valid CDL credentials. Membership in a regional motorcoach association reflects a commitment to professionalism and safety.
How do I get a price quote for a charter bus?
Use the SCMA trip builder tool on this page. Enter your route, date, and passenger count. The tool will match you with operators who serve your area. Operators with real-time quoting capability will return an instant price. Others will receive your trip details and follow up directly with a quote.
What size groups can charter buses accommodate?
Charter buses typically seat between 40 and 57 passengers. For smaller groups, many operators offer minibuses in the 24 to 36 passenger range. The trip builder will match you with the right vehicle type based on your group size.
What if my trip crosses state lines?
No problem. Many SCMA operators are licensed for interstate travel and regularly move groups across state lines throughout the South Central region — from Houston to New Orleans, Little Rock to Dallas, and beyond. Enter your full route in the trip builder and it will identify operators who can handle your journey.
